About me…

Hi! My name is Christina Carbone. I am currently a senior at High Point University, anxiously awaiting graduation in May. I am studying Event Management and I am constantly asked “So like, you want to plan parties?” My answer is this, NO!

To me, Event Management isn’t just planning parties, it is so much more. You can go in so many different directions such as wedding planning, parties, cooperate events, hospitality, nonprofit, and fundraising. Even though you can go into planning parties, there are many other opportunities that come with event management.

When planning events, you are given an idea or vision from someone and you have to make it reality. Whether it be someone’s wedding or a company’s fundraising event, you as the event planner need to take their ideas and make them come to life. It requires time management skills, effective communication skills, and it requires you to think outside the box. You must be able to create the event successfully, on time and on budget.

This blog will take your through my past experiences as an events intern, VP 3 (Recruitment Chair) for my Sorority, and my new position as an intern at the O.Henry Hotel in Greensboro, NC.

Stay tuned for some events that I’ve worked on and some “Pinspiration” that has helped me with ideas.
